March 12, 2019 Program Recap

March 26, 2019

When Jay Paul Co. recently purchased CityView Plaza in Downtown San Jose, the local real estate industry collectively asked one question: What now?

On March 12, CREW Silicon Valley members and guests received a little bit of a preview, thanks to luncheon guest speaker Janette D’Elia, Jay Paul’s chief operating officer.

She was joined by longtime Newmark broker Phil Mahoney, as well as moderator (and fellow Newmark broker) Nancy Morse, a CREW SV past president. The wide-ranging discussion touched on the market, industry trends, career development and advice and what it’s like working with Jay Paul. More than 100 people turned out for the luncheon at the Silicon Valley Capital Club.

While D’Elia didn’t disclose the full game plan for CityView, it’s clear that redevelopment is in the plan. But as to rumors that it’s leased? “If that’s true, let us know,” Mahoney said.

D’Elia also discussed Jay Paul’s commitment to supporting women in the industry. (With just more than 50 employees, more than 30 of them are women, she said.)

“San Jose came on the radar and once we started taking more time to look at it, we really decided that this would be our next big move," D’Elia said.
