That was fast! That’s the response I hear from many when we talk about 2022. The pace for our CREW chapter in Silicon Valley was no exception, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to reflect on all the great work our chapter did this year to continue to elevate women in commercial real estate.
This year we were back in a big way. We hosted more than 20 programs and events with over 1,000 participants. Our returning and new members saw the value of connection – we had consistent and incredible turn out. We convened with our tried-and-true programs like our economic forecast, annual awards, and holiday party, and brought back a pre-pandemic fan favorite, Casino Night. Major kudos to Laura Kreuger and our 2022 programs committee who put in the planning and hard work.
In addition to our great programs, we are fortunate to have so many companies who not only support us financially via sponsorship but align with our mission and serve on our board and committees. Special shout out to Dee Armstrong and the sponsorship committee for keeping the sponsorship train moving.
Our Rising Leaders and UCREW leaders Kimberly Taylor and Quan Che and their committees set the bar for mentoring and bringing in the next generation of leaders into our industry. Thank you.
The contributions of the rest of the board and our committees, in particular board members Michelle Goudeaux, Nathan Donato-Weinstein, Ryan Rusler, Lauren Mader, and Mary Carter, are too numerous to count. Whether it be keeping our numbers in check (Ryan), keeping our board in check (Lauren) or managing our communication (Mary), this group exhibited a high degree of leadership and teamwork and made it look easy. Last and certainly not least, outgoing Past President Nathan Donato-Weinstein truly lives in service of others and in lifting others up. Thank you for your many years of service and contributions on the board of CREW SV.
We have so much to look forward to in 2023 with Michelle Goudeaux at the helm as President. Our 2023 board of directors bring diversity of background, thought and experience and I’m so excited to be able to serve alongside this group. Be on the lookout for engaging programming, exciting opportunities to network and make new CREW connections, and meaningful ways to pay it forward to the next generation of women in commercial real estate.
