Hear From:
Christina Briggs
Economic Development Director, City of Fremont
Fremont: Since the recession, Fremont has exploded with new industrial projects, many of them building off of the manufacturing ecosystem that is thriving thanks to the Tesla plant. There’s also new, office-oriented tech tenants such as Facebook moving in. And housing is also booming as the city builds out a new downtown and the area around the Warm Springs BART station.
Reena Brilliot
Planning Manager, City of Santa Clara
Santa Clara: Over the last few years, Santa Clara has blossomed with projects especially around Irvine Company’s Santa Clara Square. But there’s a lot more going on, such as efforts to develop a central hub in the city’s historic Downtown. Now, the massive Related Santa Clara is kicking into high gear, as plans to transform the city golf course into a major mixed-use community start in earnest.
Patrick Heisinger
Community and Economic Development Director, City of East Palo Alto
East Palo Alto: East Palo Alto is suddenly on many developer, investor and tenant touring lists thanks to its position at the heart of Silicon Valley. This tiny city has big plans: Leaders are working to overcome historical infrastructure deficiencies and establish a new paradigm of how development can benefit the whole city.
